Moe Boyle became the head coach of the Fighting Saints Volleyball team in 2005.
Last Season: The 2025 Fighting Saints had an up-and-down season in the newly-expanded 12-team Frontier Conference. Carroll finished sixth in the regular season, with conference record of 12-10, and went 17-14 on the year as a whole. Led by four All-Conference selections (McKaila Balcom - First Team, Liz Heuiser - Second Team, Sidney Gulick - Second Team, Lauren Heuiser - Honorable Mention), the Saints battled in a thrilling five set quarterfinal loss to MSU-Northern at the Frontier Conference Championship - hosted at the CC PE Center. Carroll spent the majority of the year either in the Top-25 or in the receiving votes portion of the poll, and had three wins over nationally-ranked opponents.
Past seasons:
The 2024 Fighting Saints battled back from a disappointing 2023 campaign. Carroll had a strong start to the 2024 season, vaulting into the NAIA National Polls following a terrific non-conference slate. The Saints spent the better part of the season ranked or receiving votes, and notched several ranked wins on the year. Julia Carr was named Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference, while Elizabeth Heuiser earned Second Team honors after returning from injury. Carr was prolific, finishing the season as the NAIA leader in digs (680) and digs per set (7.0), marking the second straight year she topped all players in digs/set and earning AVCA Honorable Mention All-American honors.
In her time as head coach at Carroll, the volleyball program has made it to the NAIA Regional Tournament in both 2005 and 2006 and the national tournament in 2012 and 2016. In the 2006 season Coach Boyle led the Saints to a Frontier Conference tournament title and advanced in the NAIA Regional Tournament, only one game away from playing for the regional championship. Success has followed Boyle with the Fighting Saints, as the Butte, Native, has coached numerous all-conference and All-Americans during her tenure and posted a winning record in all but two of her seasons with the Saints. Under Boyle, the Saints average 18 wins per season.
Prior to coaching at Carroll, Coach Boyle spent 10 years coaching in the Montana high school ranks. This included five years as an assistant coach at Helena Capital High School and five seasons as the head coach at Flathead High School, where she led the Bravettes to their first ever Montana state title in 2001. In 2002, she took the helm of NCAA Division III Beloit College in Wisconsin. Posting a 3-27 record the year before she arrived, Coach Boyle guided Beloit to a 26-12 record in her final season, earning her Midwest Conference Coach of the Year nominations in 2003.
Coach Boyle is married to Cal Boyle. They currently reside in Helena with their son Keiran and daughter Mollee.
Coach Boyle graduated from Carroll in 1993 with a BA in Mathematics and Secondary Education. She is also a member of the Hall of Fame Carroll volleyball team of her senior year. For more information about Boyle’s career, read this piece that appeared in the Carroll Magazine (page 26).
