Saints Cross Country Heads to Second Meet of the Season

09/16/26 | 4:37 PM

Helena, Mont. – Carroll College Cross Country will compete in Missoula, Mont. on Friday evening at the University of Montana Cross Country Invitational.

The No. 19 men and women debuted for the season at the Bobcat Twilight Meet two weeks ago with the women placing 2nd and top of smaller schools. They both return to the course this week against similar Frontier foes like Montana Tech and Rocky Mountain College, as well as strong NCAA competition in the University of Montana, Montana State, University of Idaho, and Idaho State.

The Saints will travel 9 men and 13 women to the Montana Invite. This includes top placers for Carroll from the season opener in Conrad Schruth and Jayna Boonstra. Eli Highness, Tanner Joyce, and Colter Anderson will race for the first time this fall. It will be the first 8k of the year for the men while the women will again race 5k.

"We've had a few more weeks of training and growing so are looking forward to gathering a bit more evidence about where we're at in a race setting," said Head Coach Shannon Flynn. "It will be exciting to put a bit more of a team race plan in action and to be on a course with more elevation change."

The women's gun will go off at 6:00 pm and the men's at 6:30 pm on Friday at the University Golf Course in Missoula.
