Saints Track & Field Heads to Frontier Outdoor Championships This Weekend

Helena, Mont. – Saints Track & Field competes Saturday and Sunday in the first Frontier Conference Outdoor Championships as part of the expanded conference hosted by Dickinson State University at the Biesiot Activities Center in Dickinson, N.D.

 

For Carroll, 52 athletes are entered across a variety of events. This includes current National Qualifiers who are ranked highly in the NAIA: Carson Krack (1st - Decathlon), Tucker Monaco (2nd - Decathlon, 4th - Pole Vault), Reuben Hornby (3rd - Javelin), Oliver Morris (7th - 3000m Steeplechase), Claire Bucklin (28th - 400m Hurdles), Katelyn Christensen (9th - Heptathlon, 10th - Javelin), and Brynn Wandle (5th - Pole Vault). 

 

Multiple other athletes are ranked in the Top 25 Nationally: Hunter Gum (Shot Put), Brycen Gardner (3000m Steeplechase), Gabby Domenici (Heptathlon), the Women's 4x800m Relay, and the Women's 4x400m Relay. 

 

Dakota State University, Dickinson State University, Bellevue University, Bismarck State University, Valley City State University, Montana Tech, Rocky Mountain College, University of Montana Western, University of Providence, and Montana State University Northern will all send athletes to the meet. The Top 8 individuals in each event will score with the Top 3 selected as All-Conference in that event.

 

With meet entries finalized, there are 43 scoring positions currently occupied by Carroll athletes across all events as well as multiple individuals just outside of the Top 8 that will be aiming to move up and gain points for the Saints. A variety of athletes are ranked in the Top 3: Hunter Gum (Shot Put), Tucker Monaco (Pole Vault), Brynn Wandle (Pole Vault), Carson Krack (Long Jump, 400m Hurdles, 400m, 110m Hurdles), Reuben Hornby (Javelin), Katelyn Christensen (Javelin), Ryah O'Dell (5000m), Claire Bucklin (400m Hurdles), Rylee Herbstritt (400m Hurdles), Jack Jensen (800m), Madalen Shipman (800m), Oliver Morris (3000m Steeplechase), and Brycen Gardner (3000m Steeplechase).

 

Field events begin at 12:30 pm Mountain Time Saturday and 10:00 am Sunday. Running events start at 3:00 pm Saturday and noon Sunday with the 10,000m ahead of the field events Saturday at 9:00 am.
