At the Digger Spring Series #2, the Fighting Saints will compete against Montana Tech, Montana Western, University of Providence, MSU-Northern, and Rocky Mountain College. Carroll will send a total of 39 women and 25 men to the meet.
After last weekend, the Saints have five NAIA Qualifiying Standards: Claire Bucklin (400m Hurdles - B Standard), Reuben Hornby (Javelin - A Standard), Katelyn Christensen (Javelin - A Standard), Brynn Wandle (Pole Vault - A Standard), and Oliver Morris (3000m Steeplechase - A Standard). Bucklin, Hornby, Christensen, and Wandle will all compete in their qualified events, while Morris will run on the 4x800m Relay and race the 3000m, an exhibition event that will not be contested at Conference or Nationals.
Additionally, both Brycen Gardner (3000m Steeplechase) and Hunter Gum (Shot Put) are currently ranked 12th Nationally. This spot would qualify them for NAIA Outdoor Nationals if they remain in the Top 20 through the end of the season. Gardner will run the 3000m Exhibition this weekend, and Gum will throw both Shot Put and Discus.
The 10,000m and the 4x800m Relay will be run for the first time in Outdoor Season for the Saints. Conrad Schruth, Eli Highness, Jayna Boonstra, Nikki Nau, Ryah O'Dell, and Nina Badger will debut in the 10,000m. The relays will again chase an NAIA Standard after both men and women qualified for Nationals in the event last spring. For Saturday's competition, Jack Jensen, Wyatt Ehredt, Oren Arthun, and Oliver Morris will run for the men and Madalen Shipman, Faye Holland, Isabelle Ruff, and Ellie Baxter will run for the women.
On Friday, the Hammer Throw and Men's Discus will take place in Great Falls. On Saturday, both field and running events will begin at 11:00 am at Bulldog Memorial Stadium in Butte.
