Missoula, Mont. – Carroll Track & Field wrapped up the regular season with a strong meet at the Montana Open.
The final running event for the Saints served as a highlight as the Women's 4x400m Relay of
Chloe Raats,
Claire Bucklin,
Katelyn Christensen, and
Madalen Shipman won the meet in a time that bumped them into the Top 25 in the NAIA. It is the fastest a Women's 4x400 has run at Carroll since Hannah Porch, Monica White, Brooke Endy, and Keely Ehmann were All-Americans in the event at the 2018 NAIA Outdoor National Championships.
In other sprints, Bucklin set a personal record in the 100m Hurdles.
Rylee Herbstritt and
Jackson Swanz were each Top 3 in the 400m Hurdles, and Swanz' time was a lifetime best.
For field events,
Karson Thomas set a personal record in the long jump.
Hunter Gum placed Top 3 in the Shot Put. Three women competed in finals in the Women's Triple Jump, Women's Discus, and Women's Shot Put for a solid day overall for the team.
In distance events,
Amelia Mayes and
Brycen Gardner each placed Top 3 in the 3000m Steeplechase. Mayes set a lifetime best and Gardner moved into the Top 20 nationally but missed the NAIA B Standard by around one second. Shipman,
Ellie Baxter, and
Jack Jensen all placed Top 3 in the 800m. Baxter and Jensen ran personal records as did
Sophie Sestrich (3000m Steeplechase),
Logan Anderson (3000m Steeplechase),
Faye Holland (800m),
Wyatt Ehredt (800m),
Tanner Joyce (800m), and
Oliver Morris (5000m). Jensen's 800m moves him into 6
th on Carroll's All-Time Lists and Morris' 5000m puts him 3
rd.
"We keep getting better every week, and it was fun especially to see our relays run fast today," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "We're excited for the conference meet next week to take another step forward!" he added.

The Saints will determine their conference roster over the next few days and will compete in Dickinson, N.D. Saturday-Sunday May 2-3 for the Frontier Conference Outdoor Championships.
