Helena, Mont. – Saints Track & Field competed in the annual Trudnowski Open at Vigilante Stadium on Saturday.
The Saints added an additional national qualifying mark as Tucker Monaco won the Pole Vault, jumping over the NAIA B Standard in the event. Monaco headed to Dickinson, N.D. following his win where he will compete in the Frontier Conference Outdoor Multi Championships on Sunday and Monday.
Brynn Wandle also won the Pole Vault on the women's side while Jackson Barney, Colin Stoddard, and Katlyn Jablonski all placed in the Top 3. Will Oley set a personal record in the event.
In other jumping events, the Saints went 1st through 3rd in the Women's Long Jump (Claire Bucklin, Macee May, Maddison Akins) with Bucklin jumping a personal best that brings her to 8th in Saints history. Braedyn Johnson won the Triple Jump with May doubling back to get 3rd.
It was a strong day in the women's sprints with Saints winning the 100m (Wandle), 200m (Chloe Raats), and 400m (Raats). Raats ran personal records in both events with her 200m run moving her into 10th on Carroll's All-Time lists. Wandle's 100m was also a lifetime best and bumped her into 5th for Carroll. Addy Martin placed in the Top 3 in both the 100m and the 200m.
In the throws, Christian Wolfe set the tone for the meet with a personal best and School Record in the Hammer Throw on Friday. He also had a personal record in the Shot Put Saturday. Reuben Hornby won the Javelin, and Hunter Gum placed 3rd in the Discus in a lifetime best.
For the women, Abigail McBeain and Olivia Maunu went 2-3 in the Shot Put. Maunu's throw was a personal best as were Amaya Fischer and Grace Horner's top marks in the event. McBeain also placed Top 3 in the Discus.
In distance events, it was a great day in the 1500m with Saints taking Top 3 for both men and women. Many athletes set personal records: Oliver Morris, Logan Anderson, Oren Arthun, Harper Churape, Tanner Joyce, Scotty McIntyre, Ellie Baxter, Isabelle Ruff, Faye Holland, and Amelia Mayes. The Saints women also took the Top 3 places in the 5000m with Ryah O'Dell winning and Ali Cunningham setting a personal record in the event. Conrad Schruth and Eli Highness debuted in the 10,000m with strong times for both. Schruth moved onto Carroll's Top 10 lists in 6th with his run.

Most Saints will head back to work before next week's meet, but Sunday and Monday, 6 athletes will aim to score points for the upcoming Frontier Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Dickinson. Carson Krack and Jake Jamieson will compete alongside Monaco in the Decathlon. Katelyn Christensen, Gabby Domenici, and Anna Hume will compete in the Heptathlon. Krack (Decathlon), Monaco (Decathlon), and Christensen (Javelin) have already qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Asheville, N.C. in May.
The Decathlon will begin at 2:00 pm Sunday and 9:00 am Monday, with the Heptathlon starting at 2:10 pm Sunday and 10:00 am Monday.
