Billings, Mont. – The Carroll College Track and Field team opened the outdoor season at the Yellowjackets/Battlin Bears Open in Billings, Mont. on Saturday. 

 

The Saints snagged Top 3 finishes in three out of their four throwing events with Abigail McBeain 2nd in the Shot Put, Hunter Gum 2nd in the Shot Put, and Olivia Maunu 3rd in the Discus. McBeain also placed 6th in the Discus, Maunu 6th in the Shot Put, and Gum 4th in the Discus for a strong overall day for each of the athletes.

 

Several athletes had personal bests at the meet: Hailey Herda (Shot Put) and Grace Horner (Discus). Maunu's debut throw in the Discus as a Saint put her into 8th on Carroll's All-Time Lists.

The full Saints squad will be in action next week at the Al Manuel Open in Missoula, Mont. on March 27-28.
