GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The Carroll College Golf teams got their 2025 season underway on Monday afternoon, completing opening round play at the Argo Invitational, hosted by the University of Providence at Eagle Falls Golf Course.
After a 36-hole first day, the Carroll Men sit in fourth place with a team score of 623, while the Women finished their first round with a team score of 342 to sit third.
While the Frontier Conference regular season won't start until next week at the Dickinson State Invitational, both Carroll teams made the quick trip up I-15 for a warm-up event featuring several conference opponents at Eagle Falls.
The Men were paced by
TJ Fierling (North Bend, Wash. / JR), who fired rounds of 78 and 75 to finish 11-over for the day while
Tanner Cromwell (Anaconda, Mont. / JR) was one stroke behind him, shooting back to back rounds of 77 (+12). Two strokes back of Cromwell,
Kyle Kennah (Laurel, Mont. / SO) went 77-79 (+14).
JT Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / JR) began the day with a 76, counting towards the team score, but had some miscues in the afternoon round leading to an 84.
Jackson Hammond (Flagstaff, Ariz. / JR) went 80-84 (+22) to round out the Carroll five.
On the Women's side of the action, Celi Chapman (Montana City, Mont. / JR) was a late scratch with a nagging shoulder injury, leading to Kate Williams (Portland, Ore. / JR) taking her spot.
Eliie Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / SO) had the round of the day for the Saints, as the lone player to post a round in the 70's (78, +7). Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / SR) shot 85, followed by WIlliams' 89, and Alli Stastny's (Murtaugh, Idaho / SO) 90. Allison Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / FR) shot an opening round 92 in her first collegiate event to round out the Carroll scoring.
The teams will hit the course once more at 9 a.m. tomorrow, as final round play commences at Eagle Falls.
