Helena, Mont. – Carroll College Cross Country will compete in Missoula, Mont. on Friday evening at the University of Montana Cross Country Invitational.
The No. 12 men and No. 24 women both placed first of NAIA schools in their opening meet several weeks ago. They return to the course this week against similar Frontier foes - including the No. 23 Montana Tech women - as well as strong NCAA competition in the University of Montana, University of Idaho, and Idaho State.
The Saints will travel 12 men and 14 women to the Montana Invite. This includes top placers for Carroll from the season opener in Zack Gacnik and Audrey vanWestrienen. Isabelle Ruff, multiple time cross country National Qualifier for the women, will race for the first time this season as will Luke Decker for the men.
"It's been 3 weeks since we last raced, so we're all very excited to be in a competitive setting and get another marker of where we're at," said Head Coach Shannon Flynn. "The training and growth have been consistent, and we're looking forward to putting more of a team race plan into action."
The women's gun will go off at 5:45 pm and the men's at 6:30 pm on Friday at the University Golf Course in Missoula.
