CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The 2024-25 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team was announced today with 1,499 women's collegiate golfers from 403 programs recognized with this prestigious honor. Carroll College Golfers
Celi Chapman and
Lauren Mayala were recognized for their academic achievements over the past year.
Both
Celi Chapman (Montana City, Mont. / SO) and
Lauren Mayala (Billings, Mont. / FR) were recognized for their outstanding academic performance alongside competition.
The pair of Fighting Saints were integral pieces to Carroll's on course success last season, and more than held their own in the classroom as well. Combined, the pair holds a 3.82 GPA, and both were regular starters in the five-score-four tournament lineups last year.
Both players were an integral part of the Carroll Women's program-record two-round team score of 623 last Fall at the Carroll College Invitational at Bill Roberts Golf Course.
This is Chapman's second-straight year earning All-American Scholar honors.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must:
- Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
- Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
- Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
