Track & Field Scores National Qualifier and School Record in First Meet of the Season

12/05/25 | 9:22 AM

Bozeman, Mont. – Saints Track & Field opened their indoor season with an individual National Qualifier and a School Record at the Bobcat Preview on Thursday at the new Kennedy-Stark Athletic Center at Montana State University.

Tucker Monaco placed 7th in the Pole Vault, jumping the NAIA B Standard to qualify for the National Meet in February. Claire Bucklin set a new school record in the 60m Hurdles as well as a personal record in the Long Jump.

Beyond those highlights, athletes across all track and field event areas got off to a strong start for the 2025-2026 season with multiple strong debuts and personal records. Maddison Akins had a great first day as a Saint, placing 3rd in the High Jump and nearing her personal best. Braedyn Johnson set a lifetime record in the Triple Jump. Abigail McBeain made the finals in the Shot Put.

The meet included a rarely contested 300m race. Carroll athletes Chloe Raats and Carson Krack won the event for the women and men respectively.

"It's great to have our athletes out competing after a fall of training," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "This was a good starting point and we're excited to see what we can do with our whole team over the full spring season," he added.
