Women's Cross Country | 10/03/24 | 3:05 PM
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the latest addition of the NAIA Men's and Women's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25 Ratings. The Carroll Women remained at No. 19, while the Carroll Men check in at No. 21.
While idle on both sides this week, the Fighting Saints did see a little movement in the NAIA national poll.
The Carroll Men fell one spot to No. 21 from last week's poll, however, they are now the only Frontier Conference team appearing within the nation's top-25.
The Carroll Women have remained at No. 19 in the latest poll, unchanged from their position in last week's poll.
Both the Men and Women will return to action this week, competing at the Frontier Conference preview meet in Billings on Friday, before heading to Grand Rapids, Mich. for the Great Lakes NAIA Challenge later this month.
Rating Methodology:
- The rating is rated by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and unaffiliated groupings.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater rates the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place, 28 for third-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ratings for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) are removed. The team's rating will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the team appears on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes".
