KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) have released the latest NAIA Men's and Women's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25 Rating. The Carroll College Women check in at No. 21, while the Men sit at No. 25.

With the NAIA Cross Country season entering its home stretch, only one Frontier Conference school appears within the Top-25 of both the Men's and Women's Cross Country polls. The Fighting Saints are hanging tough on both sides of the competition as the lone Frontier representative inside the Top-25.

While idle last weekend, the three and four-time defending Frontier Champs continue to garner the voters' respect, remaining in the polls all season long.

Both teams will get their first shake at national competition next weekend, as they compete in the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, Mich. alongside many of the top teams from around the country.

Visit www.carrollathletics.com for a preview of that event, and to stay up to date with everything going on in Carroll Athletics.

Rating Methodology:

  • The rating is rated by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and unaffiliated groupings.
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater rates the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place, 28 for third place and so on through the list.
  • The highest and lowest ratings for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) are removed. The team's rating will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the team appears on.
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes".
