Brookings, S.D. – Saints Track & Field wrapped up the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships at Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex on Saturday.

For the men, Van Gottwals placed 14th with his fastest ever outright 800m time on an indoor track. Garrett Kocab placed 15th in the Shot Put in his final indoor championship. Tate Kauffman (Triple Jump) and Josh Smalley (Pole Vault) brought both focus and energy to their first national meet. 

On the women's side, Paige Baxstresser placed 15th with her second fastest open 400 ever, while Natalie Yocum placed 11th in the 800m after leading her preliminary heat for 650m. Reghan Worley competed in the 5000m for her final indoor meet as a Saint.

"We're proud of what these athletes did this weekend and excited to carry our momentum into outdoor season," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "It's always tougher to train for indoor with our typical weather conditions, so we're looking forward to moving outside more in the coming weeks," he added.

The Saints will begin preparation for a busy outdoor season that will culminate in the Frontier Conference Track & Field Championships in late April. The squad's first outdoor meet will be on March 25 at the University of Montana. The complete outdoor schedule is linked below:
