Helena, Mont. – Saints Track & Field hosted a meet at home in Vigilante Stadium this Friday with an abbreviated schedule due to weather.
Because of snow accumulation, only the 4x800m Relay, 400m, 800m, 200m, 1500m, 500m, and 4x400m Relay were contested. Montana Western and Montana Tech attended the meet. Weather conditions turned out to be sunny and calm for much of the meet.
The Saints competed as the sole entry in each 4x800 Relay, but they also won both 4x400 Relays which included teams from Western and Tech. In individual events, Carroll competitors won 3 out of 5 events on each side. For the women, Brooklyn Schultz won the 200m, Paige Baxstresser the 400m, and Sydney J Lamb the 1500m. From the men's team, Joseph Ceccaci won the 200m, Brett Glaser the 400m, and Connor O'Hara the 1500m.
There were multiple personal records set during the meet. Zach Rector ran a lifetime best in the 1500m and Daniel Koralewski in the 5000m. On the women's side, Katelyn McKay ran her fastest time ever in the 1500m, as did Sydney D Lamb in the 5000m.
"It was great to see family and community members out today to support our distance and sprint athletes," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "The competitors out there made the most of the opportunity, and we can't wait to be back in a full meet with our whole roster next week," he added.
