2022 Track Signing Class

Women's Track and Field | 06/07/22 | 4:00 PM

Helena, Mont. – Carroll College Track & Field and Cross Country announced their current signing class for 2022.

In total, 29 student-athletes will be joining the team this fall and 28 of those will be freshmen that graduated high school in 2022. Three of the athletes will be multi-sport competitors at Carroll (Colin Stoddard – Football, Sadie Filius – Women's Basketball, Katelyn Christensen – Women's Basketball). While the signees hail from a variety of states, 19 are from Montana. The class includes 9 men and 20 women.

Eight of the additions will compete in cross-country including the lone new upperclassman – Kyle Olson – who will be a senior at Carroll this year. Other event area signees include six throwers; seven sprinters, hurdlers, and middle-distance runners; and eight jumpers, pole vaulters, and multi-event competitors.

The group had a successful senior year overall. Several individuals were part of State team podium finishes including Hannah Sempf (Montana A Cross Country, 1st), Joseph Ceccacci (Montana AA Track, 1st), Madison Lewis (Montana A Track, 2nd), Tate Kauffman (Montana AA Track, 2nd), Reuben Hornby (Montana AA Track, 2nd), Brycen Gardner (Washington 3A Cross Country, 3rd), and Chloe Raats (Montana B Track, 3rd). Individually, there were multiple State Champions in the group such as Hannah Sempf (Montana A Cross Country), Jackson Tarum (Montana C Pole Vault), Tate Kauffman (Montana AA Triple Jump), Sorren Reese (Montana C Javelin), Kayla Botkin (Montana A Discus), and Madison Lewis (Montana A Shot Put). Notably, Sophie Bliss ran personal records in both hurdle races to place 2nd (300 Hurdles) and 3rd (100 Hurdles) at the Oregon 5A State Meet this spring.

"We're excited about this signing class and believe they're going to have a positive impact on our program right away," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "We can't wait for them to get to campus so we can see how they make us better as a team and how they improve as individuals."
