Helena, Mont. – Carroll Track & Field returns to competition for the Providence Open in Great Falls, Mont. this Thursday and for the Whitworth Peace Meet in Spokane, Wash. this Friday.
The Saints will send 56 athletes to Great Falls. With the shortened meet last week, many competitors will be in action for the first time this outdoor season after missing their scheduled events at the cancelled Yellowjackets/Battlin' Bears Open. Completely new to the list this spring will be
Lydia Crumpler (Shot Put, Discus), Rakiah Grende (High Jump, Triple Jump),
Emma Stachofsky (5000m),
Dylan Stearns (5000m),
Olivia Weyer (Pole Vault),
London Lambrecht (400m),
Emma Patek (400m),
Finleigh Levinson (400m),
Conner Bawden (1500m),
Aidan Jarvis (800m),
Patty Keeley (1500m), and
Joe O'Sullivan (5000m).
The Providence Open entries also include multiple past All-Americans and national qualifiers for Carroll. Now near the halfway point in the regular season, the Saints are focused on chasing those NAIA qualifying marks again and preparing for the Frontier Conference Outdoor Championships in late April.
Carroll will also send 9 athletes to Spokane to compete in several events that aren't as frequently contested nearby.
Spencer Swaim,
Clayton Ryerson,
Zach Rector,
Reghan Worley,
Katelyn McKay, and
Nicole Morgen will race in a highly competitive 10,000m. Riley Navarro,
Andria Mourich, and
Erika Arthur will compete in the 3000m Steeplechase, and their times will be scored as part of the Frontier Conference Meet since the event won't be available at the meet venue.
"With the cancellation last week, we're hungry to get back out there competing," said Head Coach
Harry Clark. "Thursday's meet will essentially be a preview of the Frontier Championships, so we're looking forward to seeing where we're at."
At Thursday's Providence Open, field events begin at 10:00 am Mountain Time and running events begin at 11:00 am. For Friday's Whitworth Peace Meet, running events begin at 2:20 pm Mountain Time.
