Billings, Mont. – Carroll Track & Field had a strong showing at an abbreviated Yellowjackets/Battlin' Bears Invite.
The meet was cancelled due to lightning after 8 men's events and 7 women's events, but the Saints still notched a team win on the women's side and second place finish on the men's side.
For the Carroll men, the 4 x 100m Relay placed 2
nd with a time within one second of qualifying for Nationals. Carroll went 1-2 in the Triple Jump with
Shamrock Campbell winning the event and
Brett Glaser earning 2
nd in a personal record.
Zach Rector placed 4
th in his debut 1500, and
Josh Smalley placed 3
rd in the Pole Vault with a college personal record. Two Saints scored in the Long Jump (Campbell – 4
th, Glaser – 7
th) and another had a college personal record (
Cormac Benn).
Garrett Kocab placed 2
nd in the Shot Put.
For the Carroll Women, the 4 x 100m Relay placed 1
st as did
Madde Boles in the High Jump. Also in High Jump,
Alexis Cooney placed 5
th with a personal record.
Reghan Worley placed 2
nd in the 1500m, and
Sophie Loveless placed 2
nd in the Triple Jump. The Saints placed two women in the Long Jump (Loveless – 2
nd, Cooney – 6
th) with a personal record from Loveless.
"Despite the cancellation we are happy about what we were able to do today," said Head Coach
Harry Clark. "It makes us excited for next week when we'll send our full roster to the Providence Open as a preview of the Frontier Conference Meet at the end of the month."

Carroll will send athletes to both Great Falls (Providence Open) and Spokane (Whitworth Peace Meet) next week.
