HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College Athletics placed all 15 athletic teams on the 2014-15 NAIA Scholar Teams list.
Carroll tied for the fourth-most teams on the list but was one of just a few schools to land every team on the list.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
Saints Volleyball led the way with a 3.52 GPA, followed by men's golf (3.50) and women's golf (3.49) and women's indoor track and field (3.47).
Carroll football was third in the nation among football teams with a 3.23 GPA. The Saints were one of two NAIA Football Championship Series teams to make the list along with Northwestern (Iowa).
"This honor is representative of the commitment to excellence our coaches have in everything they do, and it starts with recruiting outstanding student-athletes who are willing to strive to match that commitment," Interim Athletic Director
Kyle Baker said. "To have all 15 of our teams recognized, the same teams whose performance in competition led to Carroll College once again winning the Bandy All-Sports Award, is truly remarkable. This is an honor the entire Carroll family can be proud of and is a great testament to the hard work put in every day by our student-athletes, coaches, faculty and staff."
