HELENA, Mont. – The fall season was a successful one for the Carroll College athletic Department. Fighting Saints football battled its way to a No. 1 ranking and a quarterfinal appearance in the NAIA Football Championship Series. The men's and women's cross country teams each finished in the top ten at the NAIA National Championship and the men's soccer program finished their first season with a respectable six wins.
 
The success didn't end between the lines. Student-Athletes at Carroll put forth a strong showing in the classroom
 
During the fall semester, Saints student-athletes had a combined GPA of 3.23. Highlighting that number were 54 student-athletes that tallied perfect 4.0 GPAs. Additionally, 187 student-athletes made the Dean's list (3.5 GPA or above) and 25 student-athletes were named Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athletes, the equivalence of being an NAIA Academic All-American.
 
"We have amazing student-athletes at Carroll College and the academic numbers from last semester are indicative of the kind of students we have and want to continue to attract to Carroll," Athletic Director Curt Apsey said. "Our coaches continue to attract the right kind of student-athlete who excels both academically and athletically."
 
Ten Carroll football players, seven soccer players, four volleyball players, two women's cross country runners and one male cross country runner received Scholar Athlete recognition.
 
Every Carroll team carried a GPA over 3.0. Women's Cross Country led with a 3.54 team GPA followed by Volleyball at 3.47.
 
Carroll football had a team GPA of 3.16 and 39 players were named to the Dean's list.
