Meet Halo: Your Favorite Saint Bernard Receives a Makeover

HELENA, Mont. -  Carroll College Athletics has introduced a new Halo mascot. The beloved Saint Bernard that has been delighting fans for over a decade received a makeover and was revealed Saturday night at the Carroll College basketball games against Rocky Mountain.

5008The original Halo was introduced in the fall of 2006, after 12 years (that is over 80 in dog years) of use and hundreds of appearances, his suit was in need of a significant upgrade.

As part of the Carroll Athletics rebrand initiative which took place over the summer of 2017, a new Halo mark was introduced. The mascot makeover was done to match the new branding by Olympus Group in Wisconsin and overseen by Carroll Coordinator of Athletic Marketing, Fan Experience and Corporate Relations Katie Nichols

Like his cousins in the Alps, Halo is a working dog. He is here to work up the Carroll faithful into a frenzy with his antics and feats of athleticism. Halo is ferociously loyal and is tough enough to handle the biggest challenges. He is ready to perform a rescue or 'bust a move' to help the Fighting Saints reach their best. When not roaming the PE Center or Nelson Stadium, Halo can be found amid the snowy peaks around the Continental Divide.

He will be a vital part of Carroll's presence in the Helena community going forward and will soon be available for appearances.
