Liz Garrett was a 6’1” volleyball and basketball player from Colorado Springs. She was the first Lady Saint to make All-Frontier Conference in both sports, and was the Hilltop spiker’s first 4-time first team All-Conference selectee, from 1984-87, and 3-time Frontier MVP. Carroll volleyballers captured four season Conference titles (two outright) and two Frontier tourney crowns. In 1986 they won the District 12 championship. During Garrett's career, Carroll compiled an overall mark of 134-47.

In 1986 Liz ranked in the country's top 25 in two categories — 557 kills for a 4.89 average (13th in the nation) and a 94.4 percent passing efficiency (22nd). As a senior, she was the first Carroll volleyball player to lead the nation, when she averaged 5.1 kills-per-game, while she also paced the team with 62 aces and 171 blocks (56 solo, 115 assisted). Liz established at least 11 school records, highlighted by 46 match kills, 598 season kills, 2127 career kills, 5.1 average kills per game, 35.8 career attack percentage, and 680 career blocks.

In basketball, Garrett was a four-year varsity forward (3-year starter), earning All-Conference honorable mention in 1986 and first team in 1987. As a junior in 1986, she averaged 10.3 points and 6.3 rebounds, ranking third and second on the team. Liz led the Lady Saints hoopsters in scoring in 6 games, with a career-high 31 points (1 shy of CC’s record) against Lewis-Clark. She posted six double-doubles in her career, highlighted by a 23-point, 12-rebound effort vs. Northern. Liz capped off her playing career as the Cathy Wallace Award co-recipient.
