Elmer Alberry, a 169-lb. left guard from Denver, Colorado, was a 3-year starter for the Saints from 1952-54, and a first team All-Montana College Conference selection as a senior. After the Hilltoppers beat Rocky Mountain College 31-6 his junior year, the IR reported, “Elmer Alberry was a standout at guard.” During those three seasons, Carroll posted an overall record of 16-6-2, while capturing three undefeated Conference championships. In addition to their 12-0 mark versus league opposition from 1952-54, the Hilltoppers outscored their MCC opponents 438-65, for an average of 36.5 to 5.4 points per game. In 1955, Elmer was listed in the “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
