Helena High product Claude Weaver garnered eight letters at Carroll, four each in football and basketball. On the gridiron with the Saints, the versatile 185-pounder played fullback, offensive guard, kicker/punter and linebacker, becoming a rare three-time All-Conference selectee. Owner of an accurate kicking leg, Weaver set the early school record of 4 PAT kicks in one game vs. Western Montana.
When the team captured three undefeated MCC championships from 1950-52, he shined on a Hilltop defense that allowed the opposition an average of just 4 points a game in 12 league contests, while posting six shutouts. On the hardcourt, Claude was a 2-time All-Conference guard and served as team captain his final two seasons. A tough defender, one of his best games was a 21-point effort against Tech. Weaver later spent time as CC assistant coach under Dutch Hunthausen.
