A standout basketball and football player for Great Falls Central from Black Eagle, 6’5”, 235-lb. Bob Langhi attended Oakland City College for one year, prior to becoming a 3-time All-Conference lineman and grid All-American with Carroll College. Earning a reputation as the “Bulldozzer of the offensive line” and “bullwark of the Saints’ defense,” he was selected second team All-MCC at offensive tackle in 1962. As a junior, he made first team at offensive guard.
His final season, Langhi was named a two-way All-Montana College Conference gridder – first team at O-tackle and honorable mention interior line on defense. Among his highlights was being singled out for his defensive play during the 16-6 win over Tech in the season finale. Langhi’s career was capped off with Carroll’s “Outstanding Lineman” award, and an honorable mention citation to the 1964 NAIA All-American squad.
