Anna McMahon was a member of Carroll College’s first soccer team in 1998, and scored the first goal in school history that season.
The Saints struggled with a 2-9 record that initial year, but the squad persevered and improved to 6-10 her sophomore season, and then went 13-6 in 2000.
Carroll was a member of the Pacific Northwest Regional Conference, and narrowly missed qualifying for postseason play. The Saints ended the year with a six-game winning streak, including three shutouts.
Carroll was 6-7-1 in McMahon’s final season in 2001.
McMahon is eighth on the school’s career scoring list with 18 goals, tied for fifth in assists at 15 and is ninth in lifetime total points with 51.
“Anna never gives up,” Carroll coach Jim Dushin told the IR in 2000. “She runs hard for 90 minutes.”
