Carroll College Athletics

The 2002 Carroll football team was the first team in school history to win a national title. On Dec. 21, the Saints — who were ranked 10th entering the post season — upset two-time defending champion Georgetown (Ky.) 28-7 in Savannah, Tenn. After winning the Frontier title, Carroll defeated Dickinson State, Southern Oregon and the University of Sioux Falls in the NAIA playoffs to finish at 12-2.
