Tiffany Hopfauf (Hofer), a 1997 Carroll grad, was a four-time Frontier All-Conference honoree and a twice the Frontier Conference MVP and Honorable Mention All-American.
After a stellar high school career in both volleyball and basketball at Hardin High School in southeastern, Montana. Hopfauf helped lead the Saints to four Frontier Championships and made an early impact, picking up Honorable Mention All-Conference honors in 1993. The Saints won their second of six consecutive conference championships that season.
In 1994, she earned Frontier First-Team honors and again to the Frontier Championship. She also shined in the classroom where she earned Academic All-Conference honors.
She was already impressive during her sophomore year but went to a whole new level for her junior and senior years.
In 1995, she led the Saints in kills (339), kills per game (3.05), serve receive (565 attempts, 94 percent), digs (339) and digs per game (3.05).
She was twice named the Frontier player of the week and earned Frontier Conference MVP honors. She was named to the Northwest Region First team and was an Honorable Mention All-American.
She again took care of business in the classroom, earning her second straight Academic All-Conference honors.
The Saints finished fourth at the Northwest Regional tournament in 1995 but failed to advance to the NAIA final site.
In 1996, Hopfauf again earned multiple Frontier Conference Player of the Week honors on her way to her second-straight Frontier Conference MVP Award.
She led the Saints with kills (342), kills per game (3.14), service aces (51), serve receive (497 attempts, 93.6 percent), digs (373) and digs per game (3.42).
She was named to the Northwest Region First Team and again named an Honorable Mention All-American. The Saints again made the trip to the regional tournament but again failed to move on the NAIA final site.
Hopfauf was twice elected captain of her team, and her leadership was again called upon when she was asked to stay on as an assistant coach in 1997 after she graduated. She remained in Helena where she works as a teacher and coach. She re-joined the Carroll coaching staff in 2016 and helped lead the Saints to a conference championship and a bye to the NAIA final site.
She resides in Helena with her husband Derek and their children Jacob and Audrey.
