MEET SCHEDULE
HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll Track and Field team opens the 2017 outdoor season at the Carroll Open at Vigilante Field Saturday afternoon in Helena.

The Saints will welcome Rocky Mountain, the University of Great Falls, Montana Western will compete in the meet. Â

"We excited to get the outdoor season underway," head coach
Harry Clark said. "We had a great indoor season, and we want to see that momentum continue to build through the outdoor season, starting Saturday on our home track."

The Carroll women finished fifth in the indoor track and field national championship with the women's 4x400-meter relay team winning the national title.

Moving to outdoor, the Saints will now have the opportunity to participate in several of their premiere events, including the javelin where reigning national champion
David Barnett hopes to build on last year's success and the 400-meter hurdles where freshman
Bryan Anderson will look to make an immediate impact.

On the women's side seniors
Leah Esposito,
Kara Barth and
Crystal Schmidt all have an opportunity to compete for individual national titles.

"Our team is strong across the board, but we have a chance to do some very special things this spring," Clark said. "We hope to start it off with a great meet Friday and hope to see a lot of Carroll fans in attendance."

The meet begins with field events at 12:30 p.m. The running events begin at 1 p.m. with the women's 4x100-meter relay. It will be a rolling schedule with each event starting as soon as possible after the previous event.

Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
