HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach
David Morris was named the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Outdoor Track West-Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year.
Under Morris' tutelage, three Carroll men earned All-America honors in the 1,500 meter run, including national runner-up
Lyle Pocha.
He was named the best men's assistant but Morris has shown his chops year round for every Carroll distance runner.
Four Saints earned All-American honors at Cross Country Nationals, four Carroll distance runners earn All-American honors at indoor nationals and 10 distance runners achieved All-American honors at outdoor nationals.
The Saints men and women earned a third-place combined trophy at NAIA Cross Country Nationals and the Carroll women's track and field and cross country program finished third in the nation when combining cross country, indoor and outdoor track.
