ISTANBUL – Former Carroll great Sinan Guler scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and tallied six assists to help lead his team, Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul to the Euro Cup Basketball championship over Strasbourd (France) yesterday in Instanbul.
 
Guler, the team's captain and a starter in the league all-star game earlier this season, had a big impact, including a great first quarter that helped Galastasaray build a 27-16 lead.
 
He made two big steals in the final five minutes of the game to help clinch the win and the championship on a two-game aggregate scoring system. Galatasaray won the game 78-67 and the aggregate 140-133.
 
Guler was a star on Carroll's 2005 NAIA Fab-Four team.
