We learned today of the passing of Carroll sophomore Elizabeth Schweizer who died as a result of a hiking accident in Switzerland this past week.
We are deeply saddened to hear of Elizabeth's passing and extend our sympathies to her parents, brother and sisters in Ramona, Calif. She will be missed greatly by her friends, classmates, teammates, professors and all who had the great fortune to know her.
Elizabeth, a chemistry major who came to Carroll last year as a freshman, was a member of the cross country team and an IMPACT caller in the college's Office for Institutional Advancement.
The college is reaching out to all who knew Elizabeth here on campus and encourage students, faculty and staff to keep Elizabeth, her family and our Carroll community in their thoughts and prayers. A memorial for Elizabeth will be held at Carroll with details announced in the coming days.
