ORLANDO – The Carroll College Athletics website, CarrollAthletics.com, was named the best website in the NAIA by a panel of NAIA sports information directors.
The award was announced Monday at the annual College Sports Information Directors of America/NAIA Sports Information Directors of America convention in Orlando.
The Saints share the top spot with Park University (Mo.), Frontier Conference opponents, the College of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State were named in the top five.
CarrollAthletics.com premiered in January and immediately garnered praise from Saints Fans.
Carroll teamed with Sidearm Sports, the nation's leader in athletics websites for software, design implementation, and hosting.
"Our goal from the beginning was to build a website that was on par with our strong athletic tradition," sports information director
Jerek Wolcott said. "People take Carroll College Athletics seriously and we didn't take that lightly. We wanted a website that our fans would love and this award is evidence that we did what we set out to do."
The final product was the result of countless hours of design and data entry by athletics staff but it wouldn't have happened at all without the generous support of a few loyal Carroll supporters.
"One of our first priorities when I came here was to launch a website that represented the Carroll brand appropriately," athletic director
Curt Apsey said. "There were some challenges associated with initial costs but once again, close friends of the Fighting Saints stepped up and made it possible. A lot of work was put in by our entire staff and I think the product speaks for itself."
